This weekend I treated the girls to a flower + milk bath. Have you ever had one? I made one for myself when I was pregnant and it was calming and so pretty. I knew they’d love the idea and of course they both were so excited to help sprinkle in the powdered milk and put the flowers into the water. They always think it’s a little bit special to get to bathe in our big tub, anyway, so it was something fun for them to do while Caleb was napping. If you’re interested in trying, go for it! Don’t be intimidated and don’t think it’s only for special occasions! It’s a perfect way to break up the monotony of daily bath time and it can be super relaxing. Why not make a nice afternoon bath a little extra special? The carnation flowers were a bit heavy and kept tipping over, so I gently opened them up and that helped. The chamomile flowers were perfect, they floated well and were simple and pretty. I tried this with dahlias once before and they started falling apart almost immediately, so this definitely isn’t for every flower! 😉 For the milk, I just used some inexpensive powdered milk from the grocery store. If you google “milk bath” I believe there are some other ways to achieve the milk bath look, but this worked just fine for us. Finally, add a few drops of lavender essential oil, light a candle or two, grab your favorite book and enjoy for yourself, or treat your kiddos to a day at the “spa”!
Splish, splash! Enjoy!
